Dog Days
& Other Hot Things!
Dear Persons,
Whew! Is it ever HOT 🔥. We are having 97⁰ highs every afternoon and very scant rain. This week rain looks hopeful so if you see some crazy woman doing a rain dance it might be me! No need to ask you how your weather is because I know it’s hot everywhere!
Honestly we aren’t doing much! We did make a 3-day trip to our old stomping grounds, Ashe County. We went end of June and stayed with dear friends. It was a great time of visiting and resting. We went by our old house and met the newest owners. These are not the ones who bought from us. Those people trashed the place. But these new kids are perfect and will take care of 172!
We enjoyed a quick visit from our son, Mark. He and Lowell took some great bike rides and did some birdwatching. I just fed them!!!
4th of July we spent with our local friends, enjoyed good food, a pontoon ride, and fireworks!
July is half over and we are looking forward to a visit from our granddaughter Hannah and fiance Chandler.
How’s your summer going?
A side note: we are grateful that President Trump was not more seriously hurt when shot this past Saturday. We support him 💯 % and pray for him, his family, our country, and Israel every single day.
My One More Thing
Ephesians 6
More than ever we must be dressed properly. We are in a war and the battle is real.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6.12 NIV
We have weapons we are to engage every day. The Word of God, and prayer. Use them. God furnished an awesome wardrobe!
The belt of Truth
The breastplate of righteousness
Shoes of the gospel of peace.
The shield of faith
The helmet of salvation
The sword of the Spirit
I had a friend draw this illustration 25+ years ago and it reminds me to:
STAND! PRAY! SPEAK!
If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, this is the outfit we must dress in every day. Take full advantage and walk confidently.

P.S. the book, “Memoirs of a Modern Mountain Mama” is almost complete! In the meantime, all my books are available on Amazon (Susan Chamberlain Shipe)
P.P.S. Go get dressed! 😉

Of course I read this the minute it came into my box...............then got side-tracked. That's ME! Love it. As always. Particularly like that you included the "armour" teaching/info. Oh, how we need it. Amen! Love you.
Thank you, Aunt Susie, for a reminder that we must be properly dressed every day! In this day, we are attacked from every direction and donning our spiritual armour helps us walk without fear and speak truth. Love you
